Work Permit

Work Permit

Every year, 150,000 foreign skilled workers move to Canada based on temporary work permits for work. If the applicant wants to work in Canada, then he/she needs an employment letter from a Canadian employer.

Requirements to work in Canada:
  • Your employer applies for the Labor Market Impact Assessment to hire you
  • Your employer pays the compliance fee and submits an employment letter to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC).
  • You must meet all the requirements to reside in Canada and also to obtain a work permit.

You are not guaranteed a permanent stay in Canada even after obtaining a work permit. To obtain permanent residency, please visit the “Immigration” section of this website.
